Drunk Driver Crashes, Flees Scene with Nearly 3 Promille BAC

A 49-year-old driver was fortunate to avoid serious injury after a crash on Sunday evening. He drove into a chapel fence, rolled the vehicle, and then left the scene.

The incident occurred around 9:00 PM on March 22nd in Zaórz, Goworowo municipality. Police and emergency services were dispatched immediately after receiving a report of the crash.

Details of the Crash

Initial investigations revealed the driver of a Nissan lost control of the vehicle, colliding with the chapel fence before overturning. He subsequently abandoned the vehicle.

Apprehension and Testing

Police quickly located the driver, a 49-year-old resident of Ostrołęka county, near the crash site. He exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and difficulty maintaining balance.

A breathalyzer test showed a blood alcohol content of nearly 3 promille. Further checks revealed he was not licensed to drive.

Legal Consequences

Following medical examinations, the man was arrested and detained. Blood samples were taken for further analysis of alcohol and drug presence.

He has been charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license, to which he confessed. He will face legal repercussions for both offenses.
