Drunk Driver Flees Scene After Crash, Arrested at Home

A 22-year-old driver crashed into a fence in Janówek Pierwszy, Poland on April 11th, leaving his passenger and fleeing on foot before being apprehended.

Road Incident in Janówek Pierwszy

On Saturday, April 11th, shortly before 10 PM, a serious road incident occurred in Janówek Pierwszy, Wieliszew commune (Legionowo county). The driver of an Audi, traveling on Nowodworska Street (DW631), lost control on a bend near the intersection with Forteczna Street and collided with a private property’s fence.

The impact severely damaged fence panels and concrete posts.

Driver Flees, Passenger Unharmed

Before emergency services arrived, the driver left the scene on foot, abandoning the damaged car and his passenger. Fortunately, the passenger did not sustain serious injuries and remained at the scene after being examined by paramedics. The incident was reported at 9:52 PM.

Firefighters, medical rescue teams, and police were dispatched to the location.

Arrest and Alcohol Level

Police quickly identified the driver and arrested the 22-year-old at his residence. He was found to be intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level exceeding 2 per mille (0.2%).

He is currently in police custody while further investigation is conducted.
