A fatal apartment fire in Warka on January 29 killed a 37-year-old man and injured a police officer who was evacuating residents.
Fire Incident and Discovery
On Thursday, January 29, at approximately 14:15, a fire broke out in an apartment building in Warka. Witnesses reported heavy smoke on the staircase, and firefighters confirmed the fire originated in an apartment on the first floor.
Fatalities and Injuries
Firefighters found a 37-year-old man inside the apartment, who was pronounced dead after resuscitation attempts. A police officer was also injured while evacuating residents before firefighters arrived due to heavy smoke and was hospitalized for treatment of combustion gas poisoning.
Emergency Response
Four vehicles from the Grójec State Fire Brigade Rescue and Firefighting Unit participated in the operation, assisted by firefighters from the Volunteer Fire Brigade in Warka.
Investigation
The cause of the fire has not been determined. Police are conducting an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
