Fatal Incident
In Hamburg, two people died under the metro wheels. The tragic event occurred on Thursday evening, January 29, at Wandsbek Markt station. According to police findings, a 25-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were on the platform independently of each other.
Suddenly the man grabbed the woman and threw himself with her under the oncoming metro train.
Victims Didn’t Know Each Other
As reported by Hamburg police, the man was from South Sudan, the woman had Iranian citizenship. Based on current information, police do not believe the two victims knew each other. A murder commission is conducting the investigation.
On Friday, January 30, video recordings are being analyzed, witness interrogations are ongoing.
Shocked Witnesses
After the tragic incident, police secured the entrances and accident site. Metro services were suspended. Both bodies were carried out in wooden coffins on mobile stairs.
