Fatal Carbon Monoxide Poisoning in Garage; One Dead, Another Fights for Life

A 33-year-old man died and a 25-year-old was hospitalized after carbon monoxide poisoning in a garage in Wielodroż, Przasnysz county, Thursday evening.

Incident Details

On Thursday evening at approximately 10:10 PM, emergency services responded to a report of carbon monoxide poisoning in a garage in Wielodroż, Przasnysz county. Two local men, aged 25 and 33, were found in the garage.

Cause of Poisoning

Preliminary investigations indicate the men were using an oil heater to warm up when they were overcome by carbon monoxide gas.

Emergency Response

Police, firefighters, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The 33-year-old man showed no vital signs and could not be revived despite prolonged resuscitation attempts. The 25-year-old was found unconscious and transported to the hospital.

Investigation

Police are conducting an investigation under the supervision of the Przasnysz District Prosecutor’s Office to determine the exact circumstances and cause of the incident.

Statistics

This is the fifth fatal carbon monoxide poisoning in the Masovian Voivodeship since October. Since October 1st, 58 people have died from carbon monoxide poisoning nationwide.
