A 58-year-old man was killed on Saturday afternoon after his car veered off provincial road 614 in Chorzele, Przasnysz County, and collided with a tree, leaving him trapped in the wreckage.
Circumstances of the Accident
The incident occurred on Saturday around 1:50 PM on provincial road 614 in Chorzele, located in the Przasnysz district. Preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the passenger vehicle left the roadway for reasons yet to be determined before hitting the tree.
Rescue Operation and Recovery
Emergency medical teams were the first to arrive, but they were unable to reach the driver as he was pinned inside the crushed vehicle. Firefighters subsequently utilized hydraulic rescue tools to gain access and extract the man, but he was pronounced dead upon removal from the wreckage.
Emergency Response Efforts
According to Senior Captain Tomasz Krawczyk of the State Fire Service in Przasnysz, seven fire brigades participated in the operation, including units from JRG Przasnysz and volunteer units from Chorzele, Rembielin, Budki, and Zaręby. Firefighters focused on securing the scene and executing the technical rescue.
Traffic Disruption and Investigation
Provincial road 614 was blocked for the duration of the emergency response, which involved police, firefighters, and medical services. Local police are now conducting an investigation under the supervision of a prosecutor to determine the exact circumstances and the cause of the vehicle leaving the road.
