OGB poll shows Coalition Civic Platform at 39.04% leads Law and Justice (28.47%) in hypothetical January election.
Poll Results
On Wednesday, January 21, OGB published the first party support poll for 2026. If elections were held in January, Coalition Civic Platform would win with 39.04%, followed by Law and Justice at 28.47%. Third place went to Konfederacja with 12.25%, trailed by Konfederacja Korony Polskiej at 9.64%. Four parties, including three current government coalition members, would not enter the Sejm. New Left gained 4.51%, Party Razem 3.33%, PSL 1.53%, and Poland 2050 1.23%.
OGB’s Łukasz Pawłowski noted stabilization in right-wing support. The poll confirmed coalition parties failing to reach the electoral threshold. Simulated seat distribution: Coalition Civic Platform 215 (currently 157), Law and Justice 149 (currently 194), Konfederacja 55 (currently 18), and Braun’s party 41. Pawłowski noted only a theoretical coalition with Konfederacja (270 seats) could veto Karol Nawrocki, but deemed it unrealistic. Law and Justice, Konfederacja, and Konfederacja Korony Polska would hold 245 seats combined.
Parliamentary Session
The Sejm began a three-day session Wednesday after 10:00 AM. Work includes debating a government bill on judicial status for judges appointed after 2018 via KRS, ensuring impartial courts. The first reading of a KRS reform bill will occur, stipulating 15 judges will be elected by all judiciary levels, organized by the National Electoral Commission.
Two parliamentary initiatives on alcohol sales restrictions will also be introduced. Left proposes a complete ban on alcohol advertising and promotion, sales at gas stations/medical facilities, and a night-time ban (22:00–06:00). Poland 2050 seeks to extend advertising restrictions to non-alcoholic beer, let localities decide on night bans, and raise alcohol license fees.
