Former Left Party MP Romuald Ajchler Dies at 77

Reflections on Ajchler’s Life and Work

Dariusz Standerski, Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs (New Left), shared several reflections on the life and achievements of the deceased. He remembered Ajchler’s care for his family, stories about the region, and willingness to share his extensive experience.

Standerski described Ajchler as a deserving son of Wielkopolska, an energetic politician and local government official, an advocate for Polish agriculture, and a man of the Left, known and respected for decades. He thanked Ajchler for years of hard work for the homeland and offered his condolences.

Cross-Party Tributes

Adam Bogrycewicz, a councilor of the Wielkopolska sejmik (PiS), also bid farewell to Ajchler, noting their collaboration on important issues for residents despite representing different political groups. Bogrycewicz recalled that Ajchler, despite being a Left politician, supported his budgetary amendments concerning the hospital in Pile.

Bogrycewicz described Ajchler as a man open to dialogue, sensitive, engaged, and dedicated to public affairs, with whom he always had cordial conversations about all aspects of life.

Remembrance from Local Leaders

Krzysztof Sobkowski, the mayor of Międzychód, also published a post, stating that Ajchler was a member of parliament for several terms and was 77 years old. He personally remembered Ajchler as a man who knew how to listen, talk, and act.

Who Was Romuald Ajchler?

Romuald Ajchler was born in January 1949 in Dusznik, Wielkopolska. By profession, he was a farmer. He served as a member of the Sejm RP (Polish Parliament) for the II, III, IV, VI, VII, and IX terms.

For years, the politician ran in the Piła district, covering the northern and western part of Wielkopolska. He last sat in the Sejm representing the Left club, and previously the SLD. He did not run for re-election in the 2023 parliamentary elections. From November 2018 to the end of October 2019, he was a councilor of the Wielkopolska voivodeship sejmik.
