The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued first-degree weather alerts for most of Poland, predicting heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and hail on Monday, June 1st.
Storm Forecast and Regional Alerts
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) reports that Monday, June 1st, will see significant cloud cover across Poland, accompanied by scattered rainfall in the eastern, central, and southern regions. Meteorologists also expect thunderstorm activity to develop throughout the day.
Forecasters anticipate localized downpours reaching 30 mm, along with wind gusts up to 60 km/h and small hail. These weather conditions are expected to impact urban areas specifically, with first-degree warnings issued for several provinces between 12:00 and 19:00.
Intense Precipitation and Hydrological Risks
Separate first-degree warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms remain active until 15:00 in parts of the Lower Silesian, Opole, Silesian, and Lesser Poland provinces, with forecasted rainfall totals reaching 60 mm. A first-degree meteorological warning signals conditions that may result in material damage or risks to health and life.
Additionally, hydrological warnings are in effect for parts of the Lubusz, Lower Silesian, Opole, Silesian, and Lesser Poland provinces due to potential rapid rises in water levels. These warnings, which remain active until Monday evening, indicate that water levels may briefly reach or exceed warning thresholds.
