On Friday afternoon in Warsaw, a Jeep overturned after hitting a lamppost and traffic signal, with the driver escaping uninjured.
Incident Details
On Friday, January 23, 2026, around 14:00, a jeep overturned on Mokotow, on Aleja Polski Walczącej at the height of ul. Batalionu AK “Bałtyk,” after hitting road infrastructure elements. The driver did not sustain injuries.
Road Conditions
The incident occurred on a wide section of Aleja Polski Walczącej, where the roadway has five traffic lanes and additional bus stop lanes. In this area, there is usually not heavy traffic.
Police Account
As reported by aspirant Kamil Sobótka from the metropolitan police, the cause was failure to adjust speed to road conditions and loss of vehicle control. Our observations at the scene indicate that a heavily modified off-road Jeep was coming from the Siekierkowska Expressway when it skidded.
Aftermath
The vehicle hit a snow pile, then – rolling onto its side – hit a streetlight and a traffic signal, causing the signal at the intersection to go out. The driver was sober and had a valid driver’s license. Since no one was injured, firefighters righted the vehicle and towed the wreck to the side.
