Kaczyński Insists Poland Join Peace Council with $1 Billion Investment

Jarosław Kaczyński requires Poland to pay $1 billion to join Trump’s Peace Council as a full member nation.

Government Approval and Funding Required

When asked if Poland should participate in the Peace Council at Donald Trump’s invitation, Kaczyński emphasized that government approval is necessary. “The government must also allocate this one billion dollars,” he stated, arguing Poland shouldn’t enter as a poor nation. “We are not a poor country today—fortunately—and we should act here as a full member,” he added.

Putin’s Participation Status Unclear

Kaczyński was questioned about debating with Vladimir Putin at the same table, replying: “But Vladimir Putin won’t be there.” However, the Kremlin announced on Monday that Putin had received a diplomatic invitation to join the Peace Council. Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, stated they were analyzing all details of the proposal and hoped to discuss nuances with the American side.

According to Reuters, Trump announced at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday that Putin had accepted the invitation. Shortly after, Putin informed Russia’s Security Council that the Foreign Ministry would analyze the proposal.

Membership Terms Controversial

Bloomberg reported that the $1 billion is the fee countries must pay to ensure stable membership in the Peace Council. Otherwise, membership would last only three years. This provision appears in the council’s statute sent to dozens of world leaders. Times of Israel journalists noted the statute makes no mention of Gaza, despite the Peace Council originally being intended to address that conflict.
