Jarosław Kaczyński, leader of Poland’s PiS party, criticized an association founded by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, warning against the creation of a new political party.
Kaczyński Addresses the Morawiecki Association
During a press conference in the Sejm, Jarosław Kaczyński addressed the association “Rozwój Plus” (Development Plus) founded by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Kaczyński referenced the association’s statutes, which prohibit members from engaging in activities within other political organizations, characterizing “Rozwój Plus” as having a political nature.
Concerns Over Potential Party Formation
Kaczyński stated that comparisons to other associations with PiS members are irrelevant, as those do not aim to transform into a political organization.
He emphasized the need to prevent a situation where the association becomes “parasitic,” leading to the formation of a new party within the PiS base.
Exclusion from PiS Electoral Lists
Kaczyński added that individuals involved with “Rozwój Plus” will not be included on the electoral lists of the Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość) party.
