A stabbing occurred shortly after 11 PM on May 3, 2026, in Włocławek following a free festival at the Old Market Square. Two individuals were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries: a 44-year-old woman who was attacked, and a 38-year-old man identified as the assailant.

The 3 Maja Festival attracted large crowds to the Old Market Square this year. The event was free and open to the public, resulting in a significant gathering. The concert program on Sunday featured performances by Poparzeni Kawą Trzy, IRA, and Ich Troje.
Attack and Citizen’s Arrest
The attack on the woman occurred in a side street near the Old Market Square, either during or immediately after Ich Troje’s performance. The assailant attempted to flee into the crowd but was quickly pursued and apprehended by witnesses.
Assailant Beaten by Witnesses
Witnesses caught up with the 38-year-old on Zamczej Street, where a scuffle ensued. The assailant was reportedly beaten and then stabbed with the same knife used in the initial attack, losing consciousness as a result of his injuries.
