KO Deputy Apologizes for Mimicking Locomotive in Parliament

Civic Coalition deputy Jacek Niedźwiedzki has formally apologized to MP Paulina Matysiak after repeatedly making train noises while she attempted to speak during a recent parliamentary session in Warsaw.

The Official Apology

Jacek Niedźwiedzki issued a statement on X Sunday evening, apologizing to MP Paulina Matysiak for his inappropriate behavior. He admitted his actions were out of place, particularly given that he was serving as the parliamentary secretary at the time.

Niedźwiedzki requested that his actions not be given deeper context, stating the joke was intended solely to reference the transport issues frequently addressed by Matysiak. He reiterated his regret for the incident.

Parliamentary Conduct

During the recent session, Niedźwiedzki made locomotive noises as Matysiak approached the podium. The MP previously criticized his behavior on X, remarking that the parliamentary hall is not a kindergarten, noting that the deputy had engaged in similar conduct at earlier sessions.

Professional Backgrounds

Paulina Matysiak is heavily involved in public transport policy, serving on the Infrastructure Committee and subcommittees focused on road safety and rail transport. She entered the Sejm in 2019 and is currently an unaffiliated member of parliament.

Jacek Niedźwiedzki, 51, is serving his first term in the Sejm. A former deputy chairman of the Suwałki city council, he is also a medalist in the Polish badminton championships.
