Man Dies After Fall During Police Intervention; Second Body Found

Police responding to a report of a foul odor at a Warsaw apartment discovered two bodies, one after a man fell from the third floor.

Police Respond to Odor Complaint

The tragic incident occurred Monday evening on Powązkowska Street in Warsaw’s Żoliborz district. Police were initially called due to a resident’s report of a disturbing smell emanating from the apartment.

The occupant did not respond to knocking, prompting the fire department to arrive with a lift to access the apartment.

Attempted Escape and Fatal Fall

As police attempted to enter the third-floor apartment via the balcony, the man lowered a rope from a window on the opposite side, attempting to descend. He fell from the third floor.

Paramedics performed resuscitation on the 68-year-old man, but were unable to save his life.

Second Body and Investigation

Police discovered a note and the body of another person in a state of significant decomposition inside the apartment.

Forensic procedures were conducted at the scene under the supervision of the prosecutor.
