Military and Police Investigate Drone Found Near Kaliningrad Border

On Saturday morning, Polish authorities and military personnel responded to the discovery of a specialized drone in a field near the Kaliningrad border in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

On Saturday, May 9, before 9:00 AM, police received a report that an individual discovered an object resembling a drone in a field near Osieka in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. The location is situated approximately 23 kilometers from the Kaliningrad border.

Emergency Response and Security

Police confirmed the report and secured the scene, notifying the fire department, the military, and the military prosecutor’s office. Officials are currently determining if the object poses a threat to bystanders.

According to Deputy Commissioner Marta Kabelis, spokesperson for the Bartoszyce District Police, the object will likely be secured by the Military Gendarmerie depending on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

Unconfirmed Reports of Cyrillic Markings

While police have declined to confirm if the device is military-grade or bears Cyrillic inscriptions, unofficial reports from RMF FM suggest the object features Cyrillic writing. The device is described as a large, specialized drone equipped with cameras, distinguishing it from standard commercial models.
