On Wednesday, Marcin Józefaciuk announced his removal from the Sejm’s Education Committee and his resignation from the Civic Coalition parliamentary club, citing a lack of dialogue and internal pressure.
Dismissed from the Education Committee
Marcin Józefaciuk learned of his dismissal from the Sejm Committee on Education and Science from documents handed over before voting. He said the decision occurred without discussion, prior notice, or an opportunity to explain his position.
Józefaciuk claimed that the club’s choice reflected a need for members who support the direction of upcoming reforms. He maintained that his criticisms of the Ministry of Education were substantive, justified, and preceded attempts at internal consultation.
Resignation from the Civic Coalition Club
Józefaciuk handed a formal resignation to the Sejm Marshal and the club chairman, stating his departure was not an attack on the club but a form of liberation for himself and former colleagues.
He agreed with the government’s reforms but insisted that, as a teacher, he could not condone a blockade of substantive educational debate. He vowed to continue fighting for the future of Polish schools, men’s rights, health, families, and the unheard.
Earlier Suspension from the Club
In early August, Józefaciuk was suspended for two months from the KO club due to criticism of government education policies and the introduction of a convicted pedophile onto the Sejm’s Child Protection Committee. He later said he was misled about the extent of the individual’s presence.
He maintained that the meeting was conducted according to parliamentary procedures and that nothing had been omitted from the official protocol.
