Polish parliament to consider tourist fee legislation on February 11 amid rising tourism costs.
New Tourist Fee Legislation
On Wednesday, February 11, the Polish Sejm will hold first readings of two bills introducing a tourist fee, proposed by Poland 2050 and The Left.
This fee would replace the local fee, which requires municipalities to meet specific climate-related conditions. As a result, some municipalities cannot collect additional revenues despite growing tourist numbers.
The Ministry of Sport and Tourism will also pre-consult assumptions for its own project, which includes dividing tourist fee revenues—unlike the parliamentary proposals.
Distribution of Tourist Fee Revenue
Part of the revenue would be earmarked for promoting tourism in Poland.
