Polish President Karol Nawrocki expressed disappointment with EU actions and addressed a TVP Info reporter directly during a press conference in Davos.
Nawrocki Criticizes EU Actions
During a press conference in Davos, Karol Nawrocki expressed his consistent disappointment with certain European Union actions.
He reminded that while Georgia was attacked in 2008 and Russia annexed Crimea in 2014, the EU was focused on ecology, the Green Deal, and migrants.
“Thank God they didn’t end up in Poland,” Nawrocki stated. “So it’s difficult to speak on behalf of the European Union. I rather try to reform it.”
Poland Was Not Heard on Russian Threats
Nawrocki emphasized that Poland was not listened to in the past when warning about threats from Russia, despite raising the same issues that Donald Trump currently discusses.
“We didn’t make deals with the Russian Federation at the same level as Western European countries, so I won’t be an advocate for the EU in this regard,” he clarified.
Direct Address to TVP Info Reporter
At the end of his remarks, Nawrocki directly addressed the TVP Info reporter, saying: “And immediately I’ll express my sadness, because you probably won’t air this on Polish Television anyway.”
He added: “I’m glad you’re here, you’re smiling at me nicely, but on public television you’ll say that probably my shoelaces were untied or something like that.”
His remarks were broadcast live on TVP Info.
