Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced he was diagnosed with a very early-stage prostate tumor, delaying public disclosure for over a year due to regional tensions.
Early Detection and Treatment
Doctors discovered a “small spot, less than a centimeter” during a routine examination of Netanyahu. It was determined to be a very early-stage malignant tumor, without any spread or metastases.
Netanyahu stated that doctors informed him this condition is common among men his age, with options ranging from observation to treatment. He chose to address it immediately, stating, “When they give me information about a potential threat, I want to deal with it immediately.”
Concerns About Iranian Exploitation
Netanyahu explained he deliberately delayed publishing his annual medical report for two months to prevent Iran from exploiting the information during the peak of the Middle East conflict.
Successful Surgery and Recovery
Approximately a year and a half ago, Netanyahu underwent a successful operation for an enlarged prostate and has been under regular medical care since. He described participating in brief sessions, reading, and continuing his work.
He stated the spot has completely disappeared and expressed gratitude, declaring, “Blessed be the Lord, I overcame that too.” He currently reports being in good health and “excellent physical condition.”
Public Health Message
Netanyahu urged Israeli citizens to prioritize their health, undergo regular check-ups, and follow doctors’ recommendations. The surgery was performed at Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem.
