On Sunday, Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski blasted MP Matecki on social media, accusing him of politicising a debate forum and calling him a “dead skunk.”
Sikorski’s Social Media Rant
In a Sunday post, Sikorski questioned whether the Friday session of the Regional International Debate Center (RODM) in Szczecin had been politicised, claiming it was organised by a PiS councillor who won the hosting contest. He added that being attacked by Matecki felt “like a dead skunk thrown at a person.”
Matecki’s Retort
Matecki replied that no PiS councillor was part of RODM in Szczecin, and questioned why public funds were used to organise meetings dominated by the opposition party KO. He repeated the insult, calling Sikorski a “filth, anti‑Polish creature.”
Interpellation Filed Against Sikorski
Sikorski claimed that the interpellation was ignored and had been sent to address the practice of organising such meetings nationwide with funds from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He urged that the MP reply politely and within the statutory period.
Background on the RODM Debate Centre
The hosting contest was won by the Association Eko‑Spol, headed by PiS councillor Marek Chabior. The event coordinator is Marek Podsiadło, a former OKW member from PiS. RODM meetings, promoted as “local debates, global solutions,” are held across Poland and recorded on the foreign minister’s YouTube channel.
