Woman Interrupts PiS MPs’ Press Conference
On Wednesday, 29 October, PiS members Andrzej Śliwka and Janusz Kowalski conducted a parliamentary inspection at the National Center for Rural Support (KOWR) and held a press conference that was televised by TV Republika.
During the briefing, a woman approached the MPs and began to critique them, calling them thieves and questioning their loyalty. Janusz Kowalski responded that the party holds high standards, but the woman continued to accuse the MPs of wrongdoing.
Her remarks—”You’re joking, Mr. Pośle”—were recorded in full, prompting the MPs to dismiss her claims as baseless allegations of theft.
CPK Land Sale Scandal Surfaces
On 1 December 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development approved the sale of a 160‑hectare parcel for 23 million zloty, intended to be cleared for a high‑speed rail line to the Kraków‑Busko–Ternopil international airport (CPK).
The rail project later increased the land’s value to approximately 400 million zloty, leading prosecutors to investigate possible oversteps by KOWR officials in Warsaw.
In response, former Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński suspended several PiS MPs amidst the unfolding investigation.
