20,000 PLN for Makeup and Hair for Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska? The Senate Chancellery Responds

Following social media controversy over a special contract for Senate Marshal Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, the Senate Chancellery has officially clarified the details, duration, and actual spending related to the makeup and styling services.

Controversy Over Senate Marshal’s Styling Contract

Rumors surfaced on the X platform claiming the Senate Chancellery pays 20,000 PLN for makeup and a hair stylist for Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. The contract, intended for “preparation for public appearances” of the Senate Marshal, sparked considerable controversy and an avalanche of outrage among internet users. In response, the Senate Chancellery decided to clear up any doubts via Onet regarding cosmetic services for one of the country’s top officials.

Senate Chancellery Confirms and Clarifies the Agreement

In a response sent to Onet’s editorial office, the Senate Chancellery confirmed the conclusion of such an agreement. It was emphasized that the contract concerns preparing the Senate Marshal for public appearances, including media events, and covers makeup services.

At the same time, it was stressed that Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska does not use these services on a daily basis, as they are ordered exclusively for selected, major state ceremonies and events held both within the Senate and outside it when the Marshal participates in high-level international ceremonies.

It was added that Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska’s visits to television studios are not covered by the service, during which the Senate Marshal relies on makeup artists employed by individual television stations.

Contract Duration and Actual Spending

According to information sent by the Senate Chancellery to Onet, the contract was concluded for the period from July 1, 2026, to the end of January 2027. The agreement provides the option to use makeup services during its validity period, but does not obligate the utilization of the entire amount.

It was emphasized that the Senate Chancellery pays exclusively for rendered services. Interestingly, the Senate Chancellery also reported that not a single penny has been spent yet within the framework of this active contract.
