26-Year-Old Driver in Fatal Kowala Crash Had Active Driving Ban

Police in Radom are investigating a fatal collision after a 26-year-old driver struck and killed a 75-year-old pedestrian in the Kowala municipality while possessing a judicial driving ban.

Police officers, operating under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, are clarifying the circumstances of a fatal road accident that occurred yesterday in the Kowala municipality, where a passenger vehicle struck a female pedestrian.

The duty officer at the Radom Municipal Police Headquarters received a report regarding the accident in Józefów on Wednesday, July 22, at approximately 7:00 PM. Initial findings indicate that a 26-year-old driver operating a Skoda while traveling toward Sołtyków struck the pedestrian, resulting in the 75-year-old woman dying at the scene.

Driver Detained and Ban Discovered

The driver was sober at the time of the incident, and blood samples were collected for further laboratory testing to check for the presence of intoxicants. Upon checking police databases, authorities discovered that the man was subject to a judicial driving ban, leading to his detention in police custody cells.

Police personnel continue to conduct investigative procedures under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office to fully clarify all circumstances surrounding the event.
