A 35-year-old man died in Kołobrzeg late Thursday night after losing consciousness while police officers were attempting to restrain him following reports of aggressive behavior and potential substance use.

Police Response to Disturbance
According to official reports, officers from the Kołobrzeg County Police Headquarters received two separate calls before midnight on Thursday regarding an agitated and aggressive 35-year-old man. Reports suggested the individual might have been under the influence of alcohol and psychotropic substances.
Physical Altercation and Medical Emergency
A police patrol and medical rescue team were dispatched to an apartment on Wieniawskiego Street. Upon arrival, the man resisted officers, leading them to use physical force and handcuffs. During the restraint process, the man kicked and verbally abused the officers before suddenly losing consciousness.
Failed Resuscitation Attempt
Officers immediately removed the handcuffs and initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation, continuing alongside medical personnel for nearly an hour. Despite these efforts, the man was pronounced dead.
Official Investigation Launched
The prosecutor’s office has been notified of the fatality. Following standard procedures, the intervention will be thoroughly reviewed by the police oversight division, with additional investigations being conducted by the Control Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Szczecin.
