6-Year-Old Child Falls Into Bonfire, Air Ambulance Deployed

A six-year-old boy suffered severe burns after falling into a bonfire on Saturday, August 1, in the village of Joniec, requiring emergency air transport to a Warsaw hospital.

Incident in Joniec

The dangerous incident occurred on Saturday, August 1, in the village of Joniec in the Płońsk County. A six-year-old boy fell into a bonfire and sustained serious burns, leading to his transport by an Air Ambulance helicopter to a hospital in Warsaw.

Fire Brigade Intervention

At 5:35 PM, the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Płońsk received a report regarding the need to secure a landing site for the Medical Air Rescue helicopter. Two units were dispatched to the scene: firefighters from the Joniec Voluntary Fire Department and the Płońsk State Fire Service.

First Aid Rendered

Upon the rescuers’ arrival, it turned out that assistance was needed by the 6-year-old boy who had fallen into the bonfire. Since the emergency medical team had not yet arrived, the firefighters immediately began providing the child with qualified first aid.

Helicopter Transport to Warsaw

The boy suffered severe burns. After initial treatment, he was handed over to the Medical Air Rescue crew and subsequently transported by helicopter to a specialized hospital in Warsaw.

Operation Details and Investigation

Firefighters also secured the landing and takeoff site for the helicopter. The entire operation lasted one hour and forty minutes, while the causes and circumstances of this unfortunate accident remain unknown.

We contacted the District Police Headquarters in Płońsk. According to the officers, the police did not receive a report regarding this incident.
