Sikorski: Russia is Planning New Provocations

During a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot in Warsaw, Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski confirmed that intelligence agencies possess credible information regarding active Russian planning for new provocations.

Warnings of Hostile Activity

Following a meeting of heads of foreign missions, Radosław Sikorski addressed reports, including those from the Washington Post, regarding potential Russian threats to NATO targets. He emphasized that Moscow is already engaged in hybrid and kinetic warfare against both Poland and France.

Sikorski highlighted that these hostile activities include attacks on political systems, critical infrastructure mapping via shadow fleet vessels, arson, rail sabotage, and the deployment of drone strikes and hit squads against Vladimir Putin’s perceived enemies.

Deterring Future Provocations

The Foreign Minister drew parallels to the period preceding the invasion of Ukraine, when US intelligence warnings successfully deterred Moscow from executing planned false-flag provocations. He stated that the current goal of sharing this intelligence is to once again dissuade Russia from carrying out similar operations.

The French Perspective

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot confirmed that both nations have been primary targets of Russian aggression for four years. He noted that as Vladimir Putin faces increasing difficulties on the front lines, the frequency and intensity of these provocations are expected to rise.

Barrot urged for a measured response, advocating for the maintenance of a consistent strategy: keeping pressure on Moscow while providing sustained financial and military support to Ukraine.
