Logistics Failure Near Rzesz贸w
Shortly before 3:00 a.m., the Rzesz贸w municipal police were notified of an incident on the A4 motorway heading toward Korczowa. During the transport of an oversized wind turbine component, the cargo鈥檚 securing system failed, causing the load to drop and obstructing the exit to the Rzesz贸w-Wsch贸d junction.
Traffic Disruption and Infrastructure Damage
The General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) confirmed the component fell at the 580th kilometer of the A4 in Terliczka, between the Rzesz贸w P贸艂noc and Rzesz贸w Wsch贸d junctions. Both lanes toward Korczowa are blocked, with traffic currently being diverted through an emergency lane. The S19/DK97 exit at Rzesz贸w Wsch贸d is also impassable for those traveling toward Korczowa.
Long-Term Traffic Restrictions
While no injuries were reported, the accident resulted in damage to road infrastructure. GDDKiA estimates that removal operations could take up to 15 hours, with plans for a total closure of the A4 to be announced in advance. Police advise drivers to exercise caution and utilize alternative routes, noting that complications could potentially last until Saturday.
