Polish Official Threatens Schengen Ban for Ukrainian ‘Enemies List’ Figures

The head of Poland’s National Security Bureau has warned that individuals glorifying the UPA and blacklisting Polish officials could face a Schengen entry ban through the information system.

Threat of Schengen Travel Bans

The head of the National Security Bureau was asked on wPolsce24 about Zbigniew Bogucki being added to a Ukrainian “enemies” list. Bartosz Grodecki indicated that Poland has tools, specifically the Schengen Information System (SIS), to restrict entry for such individuals.

Grodecki emphasized that the government has the power to utilize these mechanisms. He noted that there is no reason for Polish officials to be stigmatized in Ukraine for speaking the truth about the UPA while Poland remains passive.

Construction of a Blacklist

The National Security Bureau chief stated that the government could easily compile a list of 10 to 15 names for such restrictions. He reiterated that these tools are currently in the hands of the government and their use should be considered.

Bogucki Targeted by Myrotvoreć

The Ukrainian NGO “Myrotvoreć” added Bogucki to its list of “enemies of Ukraine” following his July 1 remarks regarding legislation on the National Pantheon. The organization labeled his comments as “anti-Ukrainian propaganda.”

In his statement, the head of the presidential office argued that glorifying individuals responsible for the Volhynia and Eastern Lesser Poland genocides is incompatible with Western civilizational values.

Territorial Disputes and Sovereignty

Myrotvoreć also criticized Bogucki for using the term “Eastern Lesser Poland,” which refers to historically Polish-administered provinces now largely within Ukraine. The organization characterized the use of this term as an attack on Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
