Father Rydzyk Defends Ziobro and Romanowski: “They Did Good, Now They Must Flee”

During the Radio Maryja pilgrimage to Jasna Góra on July 12, Father Tadeusz Rydzyk defended former ministers Zbigniew Ziobro and Marcin Romanowski, claiming they are being persecuted for their past political actions.

The Defense of Ziobro and Romanowski

Father Tadeusz Rydzyk claimed that Ziobro and Romanowski are suffering because they refused to fund “leftist” initiatives and what he described as the demoralization of youth. He insisted that the ministers, along with Father Olszewski, acted righteously and are now being unjustly pursued.

Presidential Recognition and Church Support

Zbigniew Bogucki, head of the President’s Chancellery, attended the pilgrimage and read a letter from Karol Nawrocki. In the letter, the President expressed gratitude for the 35 years of service provided by the Radio Maryja community and the work of the Redemptorist fathers.

Rydzyk’s Criticism of Parliamentarians

During the event, Father Rydzyk harshly criticized the appearance of some politicians in the Sejm, comparing them to “thugs.” He urged those in power to act with integrity rather than attacking the Church and clergy with what he described as lies and smear campaigns.

Legal Status and Current Whereabouts

The prosecutor’s office suspects Ziobro and Romanowski of irregularities concerning the Justice Fund. While they previously sought asylum in Hungary, their status was revoked following political shifts in the country. Both men are currently wanted by Polish authorities, with reports indicating Ziobro has traveled to the United States while Romanowski’s location remains unclear.
