Summer Returns with Rising Temperatures and Expected Storms

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management forecasts a gradual rise in temperatures across Poland starting Monday, with peak heat arriving mid-week accompanied by potential storms and hail.

Meteorological Outlook

According to the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management, most of Europe remains under the influence of a high-pressure system from the Norwegian Sea. Lower pressure systems from Western Russia and the Atlantic will dictate conditions in the eastern and western regions of the continent, bringing a gradual inflow of warmer maritime polar air.

Weather Conditions for Monday

Monday, July 13, will remain cloudy with some brighter spells, particularly in the northeast and southwest. Temperatures will range from 19 degrees in the southeast to 28 degrees in the southwest and far northeast, with intermittent rainfall expected.

Mid-Week Temperature Increases

Tuesday, July 14, will bring more sun to the west, while the east remains largely cloudy with possible rain. Temperatures will range from 21-23 degrees at the seaside and in the Carpathian foothills, and 25-29 degrees elsewhere. Wednesday, July 15, will see a slight increase, with thermometers reaching 27-29 degrees Celsius.

Heat Waves and Severe Weather

A true return of hot weather is expected on Thursday, July 16, with temperatures hovering around 30 degrees, potentially reaching 32 degrees in the east. Simultaneously, the southwest may experience storms with hail and strong winds reaching 70-80 km/h.

Weekend Forecast

Temperatures over the weekend of July 18-19 will range from 27-30 degrees Celsius in most parts of the country, though northern and southern regions will be slightly cooler. Storms with hail are anticipated across the western and central parts of Poland.
