IMGW Issues Storm Alerts for Ten Provinces With Hail Risks

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management has issued first and second-degree weather alerts across ten Polish provinces, warning of heavy rainfall, strong wind gusts, and localized hail until Tuesday night.

First-Degree Storm Alerts

First-degree alerts are in effect until 11:00 PM Tuesday for the Lubuskie, Wielkopolskie, and Łódzkie provinces, alongside the southern reaches of Podkarpackie. The IMGW forecasts moderate to heavy rainfall between 20 mm and 35 mm, with wind gusts reaching 70 km/h and potential hail.

Second-Degree Storm Warnings

Second-degree alerts have been issued for Dolnośląskie, Opolskie, Śląskie, and Małopolskie provinces, as well as southern areas of Lubuskie and Świętokrzyskie, remaining valid until 11:00 PM Tuesday. Temperatures will range from 23°C to 29°C, with coastal areas seeing approximately 21°C.

Intensity of Rainfall Predictions

Meteorologists expect storms to bring moderate to heavy rainfalls of 25 mm to 40 mm, with local accumulation reaching 55 mm. Wind gusts are expected to hit 70 km/h, accompanied by the risk of hail.

Hazard Levels and Ongoing Alerts

Additional first and second-degree alerts for heavy rain and storms are active in Świętokrzyskie, Podkarpackie, and Małopolskie provinces until 11:00 AM Tuesday. These alert levels signify dangerous weather conditions capable of causing significant material damage and threats to public health and safety.
