Drunk Motorcyclist Causes Collision and Assaults Driver in Warsaw

A 21-year-old Ukrainian national, intoxicated with a blood alcohol level of 1.93 promille, ran a red light on a motorcycle and assaulted a Mercedes driver following a collision on July 11.

Collision and Assault

The incident occurred on Saturday, July 11, around 11:00 PM at the intersection of Lazurowa Street and Obrońców Grodna, near the S8 expressway. A Suzuki motorcycle collided with a Mercedes sedan after the motorcyclist ran a red light.

Following the crash, the driver of the Mercedes contacted emergency services, reporting that the motorcyclist had physically assaulted her by pulling and striking her. Police arrived at the scene and subdued the aggressive 21-year-old.

Investigation and Charges

The motorcyclist, a 21-year-old Ukrainian citizen, had a blood alcohol concentration of 1.93 promille. He admitted to officers that he did not possess a valid motorcycle license, a claim currently being verified by law enforcement.

The driver of the Mercedes filed a formal complaint on Monday regarding the assault. The suspect has been released following initial questioning and charges; however, police stated that additional charges may follow as the investigation continues.
