A 39-year-old Polish man was hospitalized with facial injuries on July 11 after an unidentified assailant attacked him on Piłsudskiego Avenue, wrongly believing the victim was a Ukrainian national.

Assault on Piłsudskiego Avenue
The attack took place around 2:00 PM on July 11 on Piłsudskiego Avenue, located between Przędzalniana Street and Śmigłego-Rydza Avenue in the Stary Widzew district of Łódź.
Maksymilian Jasiak from the Łódź Municipal Police reported that the perpetrator struck a man who was speaking on his phone. The assailant verbally abused the victim, suggesting he did not belong in Poland.
Victim’s Injuries and Police Investigation
The 39-year-old victim, a Polish national, suffered a damaged nose and jaw from two blows to the head. He was treated at a hospital and subsequently filed an official report at the Łódź-Widzew police station.
Police describe the suspect as being approximately forty years old. Investigators are currently working to determine the motive behind the assault and have initiated formal charges against the unidentified individual.
