Tusk Critiques Czarnek’s Stance

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on remarks made by PiS vice-chairman Przemysław Czarnek regarding the suspension of financial aid to Ukraine. Tusk stated that Russia “could not have wished for a better candidate for prime minister” than the PiS politician.

Czarnek Calls for Leveraged Policy Shift

During an appearance on TV Republika on Monday, Przemysław Czarnek argued that Poland should leverage its position within the EU and NATO to force Ukraine to change its internal policies. The PiS politician emphasized that the EU must be pressured to cease all funding for military aid and reconstruction until Ukraine shifts toward what he described as pro-human values.

Kaczyński Promises Internal Clarification

PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński announced on Tuesday that the controversy surrounding Czarnek’s statements will be addressed by the party leadership. In a post on X, Kaczyński clarified that the PiS position remains firm: military aid for Ukraine, including support channeled through the European Union, is considered absolutely necessary.
