PiS Spokesperson: Morawiecki’s Association Harms the Party and the Right

PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek issued an ultimatum to party members involved in Mateusz Morawiecki’s “Rozwój Plus” association, stating its activities undermine party unity and declaring that members must choose between the association and PiS.

Bochenek’s Critique of the Association

In a statement released Thursday morning, Bochenek characterized the goals of the Rozwój Plus association as political and in direct contradiction with the party’s official activities. He argued that the association’s operations lead to the fracturing of party structures and the exploitation of PiS resources for private organizational goals.

Bochenek explicitly stated that despite claims to the contrary, the association does not support, but rather damages, the unity of the Polish right. He emphasized that personal ambitions must not obstruct the success of the broader patriotic movement.

Ultimatum to Party Members

Rafał Bochenek reminded PiS parliamentarians that they must decide whether to remain in the association or leave it to avoid expulsion from the party. He stressed that this choice is entirely individual and voluntary.

This follows an announcement on July 15, when PiS leadership officially banned internal associations to maintain ideological and organizational unity. Members of organizations deemed political, including Morawiecki’s “Rozwój Plus” and Jacek Sasin’s “Po Pierwsze Polska,” must now declare their resignation from these groups or face formal expulsion procedures.

Divergent Responses from Leadership

Following the party’s directive, Jacek Sasin decided to dissolve his association, affirming his loyalty to PiS and Jarosław Kaczyński. He stated that all initiatives previously planned under his organization will now be integrated into PiS structures.

Conversely, former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has refused to yield. He stated on X that “Rozwój Plus” remains a necessary platform for discussing the future, security, and a vision for the state, adding that the association will continue its operations despite the party leadership’s opposition.
