Repeated Incursions and Defense Testing
Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz reported that Russian forces are once again testing the responsiveness of Polish air defense systems. The interception follows similar aerial incidents recorded earlier this week on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Details of the Interception Mission
A pair of Polish fighter jets based in Malbork intercepted two Russian Su-30 aircraft over the Baltic. Following this mission, the pilots were redirected to escort a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance plane located 30 kilometers north of Jastrzębia Góra.
Regional Coordination and Status of Airspace
The Polish Ministry of National Defense confirmed that once the escort was complete, the Russian aircraft were handed over to Swedish forces. Authorities emphasized that at no point was Polish airspace violated during these operations.
