PiS Ultimatum: Thursday Deadline Is Final and Irreversible, Says Party Spokesperson

Law and Justice spokesperson Rafał Bochenek warns that party members failing to sign a loyalty statement by Thursday will face irrevocable expulsion.

“Every parliamentarian and MEP who wants to remain in the party must submit the appropriate statement by the end of the day on Thursday. The absence of this document is equivalent to renouncing membership in the party and the parliamentary club. Everyone in the party has the same obligations, and that is what the resolution of the Presidium of the Political Committee concerns,” continued the party spokesperson.

Rafał Bochenek appealed to parliamentarians for “common sense and the submission of the statement,” noting that further activity in Mateusz Morawiecki’s association “is splitist activity” and “realizes a scenario written by the hands of enemies who want the breakup of the broad camp of Polish patriots.”

Irreversible Consequences of Inaction

“Do not succumb to this pressure. Let us act together in one party for the good future of our Homeland. It is time for deeds, not words. Everyone makes their choice alone. Taking an example from people particularly involved in the process of breaking up the party is a huge mistake that can have consequences for many years. The Thursday deadline is final, and the effects of its expiration are irreversible,” added Rafał Bochenek.

Ban on associations in PiS. The party is on the verge of a split. On July 15, PiS spokesperson Rafał Bochenek announced that the party leadership decided to ban the activity of associations within the grouping “in order to preserve ideological and organizational unity” of Law and Justice.

Internal Conflict and Public Disputes

Sasin’s association subordinated itself to the decision of the party authorities. However, Morawiecki announced that “Rozwój Plus” will continue to operate.

“The activity of the association leads to the fragmentation of party structures, the use of PiS resources to build its own organization, and the fueling of conflicts,” the party spokesperson communicated in a statement a day later.

Public disputes between politicians associated with Morawiecki and members of PiS loyal to Kaczyński have since become an everyday occurrence. Yesterday, PiS MP from the Pomeranian Voivodeship Kacper Płażyński threatened his fellow party member Marcin Horała with a lawsuit after the latter accused him of distributing a report on Karol Nawrocki’s connections to the criminal underworld.
