Drunk 16-Year-Old on E-Scooter Carrying Passenger Arrested in Mława

A drunk 16-year-old girl carrying a peer on an e-scooter was stopped by traffic police in Mława, subsequently lying about her identity and facing the juvenile court.

Traffic Stop on Marshalkowska Avenue

In Mława, a traffic patrol stopped a 16-year-old operating an electric scooter. Contrary to regulations, she was carrying a female peer and was intoxicated, with the Mława police confirming she will face a juvenile court.

The arrest took place a few days ago on the bicycle path on Marshalkowska Avenue on the outskirts of Mława after the traffic patrol noticed the driver transporting a passenger of the same age.

False Identity and Refusal to Contact Parents

According to statements made on Tuesday by senior staff sergeant Anna Pawłowska, the press officer of the Mława police, the detained teenager initially provided the personal details of another person during the check and then refused to notify her parents.

Instead, she attempted to contact acquaintances, maintaining that they were her guardians. Consequently, the 16-year-old was transported to the police station, where her parents arrived shortly after being notified of the incident.

Alcohol Test and Court Referral

Senior staff sergeant Pawłowska noted that a sobriety test of their daughter was conducted in the parents’ presence, showing nearly one promille of alcohol.

The Mława police spokesperson announced that the case regarding the offenses committed by the 16-year-old, who was handed over to her parents’ care after necessary procedures, will ultimately go to the Family and Juveniles Department of the District Court in Mława.

Police Appeal to Parents

The police are appealing to parents and guardians for greater supervision over children and youth, particularly now during the vacation period.
