Fatal Crash Near Warsaw: Cyclist Killed After Emerging From Side Road Into Delivery Van

A 43-year-old cyclist died at the scene after colliding with a delivery van on provincial road 683 in the Piaseczno county when he rode out from a minor street.

Shortly after 5:00 PM on provincial road 683 at the intersection with Akacjowa Street in the village of Obręb in Piaseczno County, a tragic road accident occurred resulting in the death of a 43-year-old cyclist following a collision with a delivery vehicle.

Initial police findings indicate that the cyclist rode out from Akacjowa Street, which is a minor road, onto provincial road 683. At that moment, he was struck by a properly moving Opel driven by a 53-year-old man.

Emergency Response and Driver Status

Emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene. Rescuers attempted resuscitation on the critically injured cyclist, but despite their efforts, his life could not be saved and the 43-year-old died at the scene.

The driver of the Opel was tested for alcohol and was found to be sober. He also held the required qualifications to drive the vehicle.

On-Site Investigation and Traffic Disruptions

Police officers are working at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor, conducting inspections, securing evidence, and determining the exact course and circumstances of the tragic accident.

The road was completely blocked for the duration of the operations, and drivers must contend with major disruptions and use designated detours.
