Two Children Dead, Six Injured in Three-Car Crash on National Road 74 in Poland

Two children died and six people were injured following a head-on collision involving three passenger cars on National Road 74 in Wójcin on Saturday evening.

Tragic accident on National Road 74 in the village of Wójcin, between Sulejów and Paradyż. Two children died and six people were injured as a result of a collision between three passenger cars. An LPR helicopter took part in the rescue operation, and the Piotrków–Kielce road was blocked in both directions.

Details of the Crash

Junior Aspirant Mateusz Piliński from the Press Office of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Łódź reported on Saturday that two children aged 9 and 11 died as a result of the accident. GDDKiA in Łódź added that six other people were also injured. The driver of a Peugeot traveling on National Road 74 from Piotrków toward Kielce drifted for undetermined reasons into the oncoming lane, collided head-on with a Toyota, and subsequently struck a Nissan. Two children aged 9 and 11 traveling in the Peugeot died at the scene despite resuscitation efforts, Piliński stated.

Rescue Operations and Road Closures

Six other people were injured in the incident, and rescue workers and police officers continue to work at the scene under the supervision of a prosecutor to clarify the circumstances of the accident. The road is blocked in both directions, and police have introduced detours. According to the duty officer of the GDDKiA Road Information Point in Łódź, the accident occurred on Saturday at around 6:30 PM, and the route between Sulejów and Paradyż may remain blocked until midnight. The duty officer of the Provincial Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Łódź informed that two medical rescue teams, an LPR helicopter crew, and six state and local volunteer fire department units from the surrounding area participated in the rescue operation.
