Kurski Faces Media Ban Following Sharp Attack on Morawiecki

Former TVP head Jacek Kurski faces potential disciplinary measures from PiS leadership after accusing Mateusza Morawiecki of acting on behalf of Donald Tusk during a broadcast.

Clash on TV Republika Over PiS Split

On Sunday, July 26, during the program “Wysokie napięcie” on Telewizja Republika, a sharp exchange occurred between Jacek Kurski and Paweł Gontarz regarding the split within Law and Justice. The former TVP head stated that Morawiecki had always been a man of the establishment and the other side until joining PiS, and claimed that today Morawiecki has legal problems and charges, attempting to smash PiS on Donald Tusk’s commission.

Kurski assessed that Morawiecki is trying to do everything to break up Law and Justice on Donald Tusk’s orders, while adding that Tusk failed to wreck PiS. He noted that what is happening was foreseen in texts written in November and December of last year, pointing to a quota by Tusk to select a group of collaborators within PiS.

Gontarz’s Firm Response and Party Backlash

Gontarz reacted firmly to Kurski’s remarks, stating that they found the culprit and that Kurski admitted to being the father of the collapse of PiS. According to Wirtualnej Polski’s findings, Kurski’s statements did not please everyone in the party, with one interlocutor stating that the former TVP head crossed boundaries and spoke of unacceptable things while arranging the appearance on his own.

WP learned unofficially that party leadership may impose a media appearance ban on Kurski, with an informant noting that Kurski faces a conversation with the party chairman. This follows Jarosław Kaczyński’s announcement on Friday, July 24, that over thirty PiS MPs resigned their membership after refusing to leave the Rozwój Plus association established by Mateusz Morawiecki, with their departure set to be confirmed by the PiS Political Committee on Tuesday, July 28.
