Stabbing in Paris Leaves Three Injured, Including Pregnant Woman

Three women were injured in a knife attack in northwestern Paris on Monday, with a 31-year-old suspect subsequently arrested by an off-duty police officer.

Attack in Northwestern Paris

The attack took place on Monday, July 27, at approximately 11:30 AM in Porte de Clichy, located in the northwestern part of the French capital. According to the newspaper Le Parisien, three women were injured, and these reports were later confirmed by the French Ministry of the Interior.

One of the victims was stabbed in the abdomen and another in the lower back, with the victims aged 19, 24, and 36. There is no information regarding the injuries of the third victim, and one of the injured is reported to be a pregnant woman. The Paris police, cited by the La Croix portal, stated that the victims were treated by emergency medical services and transported to the hospital.

Arrest of the Suspect

According to preliminary findings, the perpetrator of the attack is a 31-year-old man who was arrested shortly after the incident by an off-duty police officer.

Le Parisien reports that the suspect does not appear to be in full control of his mental faculties. The head of the French Ministry of the Interior, quoted by AFP, stated that the detainee was giving incoherent statements and urged extreme caution regarding the attacker’s motives.

Investigation and Witness Account

The newspaper also reported that authorities are not currently classifying the incident as a terrorist attack, with local police investigating the case as attempted murder with extreme cruelty.

A witness to the assault described seeing a woman and a man holding each other by the shoulders, thinking she had been attacked. The witness recounted that upon going outside to see what was happening, he noticed a young man lying on the ground with two knives beside him.
