Prosecution Takes Action After Assault

The prosecutor’s office in Wrocław has taken swift action following the brutal beating of a Ukrainian couple. One of the suspects has been charged with assault and violence motivated by nationality, categorized as a hooligan act.

A 27-year-old man identified as Tomasz M. faces up to five years in prison. The second detained suspect, 45-year-old Adam C. known as “Cycu,” is also facing similar charges.

Prime Minister Tusk Condemns the Attack

Prime Minister Donald Tusk strongly condemned the assault before a government meeting, warning that such behavior undermines Poland’s international reputation. He emphasized that the attackers targeted the victims simply because they spoke with a different accent.

Tusk pointed out that one of the detained attackers had boasted on social media about being a border defender, highlighting the dangerous rhetoric of groups posing as patriots while damaging the country’s image.

Direct Appeals to Nawrocki and Kaczyński

Tusk called on President Karol Nawrocki to break his silence on the matter, criticizing past praise for violent fights and bare-knuckle brawling organizations. He also urged PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński to stop calling for the formation of private militias.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister appealed to all citizens to take a firm stand in support of the state, police, and vulnerable groups, urging the public never to remain indifferent to acts of violence.

Details of the Wrocław Incident

The incident occurred on Sunday on Okulickiego Street in Wrocław, where three men brutally attacked a 21-year-old Ukrainian man and his 20-year-old partner. The confrontation reportedly began following a minor dispute in a store queue before escalating into street violence.

Emergency services transported both injured victims to the hospital, where the woman required stitches for an ear wound. Police and prosecutors are continuing their search for the third suspect involved in the attack.
