The Ministry of National Education (MEN) has presented the official calendar of classes and study breaks for the 2026/2027 school year, which will take effect on September 1, 2026. The regulation applies to all primary and secondary school students in Poland, specifying the dates for holiday breaks, winter holidays, and summer vacation.

The new schedule from the Ministry of National Education establishes exact timeframes for studies and days free from instructional and educational activities. The main dates for school breaks are structured accordingly.

Winter Holiday Schedule by Voivodeships

Three rounds of winter rest have been designated to distribute tourist traffic across Poland. The dates of the winter holidays in 2027, divided by voivodeships, are presented in the schedule.

Ministry Stance on Summer Vacation Shift

Proposals had emerged regarding changing the summer vacation period to run from mid-June to mid-July, justified by high temperatures in classrooms. The education ministry rejected these proposals, maintaining the existing model.

In a statement to the Wprost portal, Deputy Minister of Education Katarzyna Lubnauer indicated that the ministry does not plan any changes at this moment. According to the ministry’s argument, changing the summer rest period would not solve the heat problem because domestic infrastructure is also frequently unequipped with air conditioning systems.
