Gunshots in Otomin: Family Conflict Suspected After Man Dies and Woman Hospitalized

Gunshots fired on Jagodowa Street in Otomin on Wednesday afternoon left one 52-year-old man dead and a woman hospitalized with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police Response and Investigation

Residents of Otomin in the Gdańsk county reported hearing gunshots around 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 29, on Jagodowa Street. Police officers and an Air Ambulance helicopter were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Authorities secured a firearm at the location. Karol Kościuk, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Pruszcz Gdański, stated that third-party involvement was preliminarily ruled out, while police and the prosecutor work to establish the circumstances and causes of the incident.

Victims Found by Their Son

Services confirmed that a 52-year-old man lost his life in the incident. Unofficial reports from journalists indicate that a woman, likely his wife, was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, though police neither confirmed nor denied these reports to the Trójmiasto.pl portal.

RMF FM unofficially established that the injured woman and the deceased man were found by their son.
