“Calm down, man”: TV Republika host expels Polish MP over “comrade” row

During a live broadcast on TV Republika on Thursday, July 30, host Miłosz Kłeczek expelled Poland 2050 MP Kamil Wnuk from the studio following a heated dispute over a Russian missile violation and a safety manual.

The Dispute Over the Safety Manual

The clash occurred on Thursday, July 30, during the program “Miłosz Kłeczek Zaprasza” on TV Republika. The disputed topic was the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian CH-101 cruise missile. Kłeczek read fragments of a “Safety Guide”—which describes recommendations in the event of air raid sirens—to Poland 2050 MP Kamil Wnuk.

Dorota Roman wrote on Wyborcza.pl regarding the wider context: “The actions of the emergency services, informational chaos, massive delay in the military’s reaction—this whole situation is complete paranoia. We must finally stop pretending that everything works and start realistically building the country’s resilience to threats that are no longer merely theoretical.”

Escalation and Interruptions

“Kamil! Now me, then you! Calm down, man!” Kłeczek snapped as Wnuk attempted to respond to readings about real-threat alarm systems and air attacks.

The Poland 2050 MP pointed out that the cited excerpt did not apply to air attack situations. An irritated Kłeczek interrupted him again: “Kamil! Now me, then you! Calm down, man!” Wnuk responded, “Please don’t manipulate facts with me! This is a different chapter.”

Accusations and the “Comrade” Fallout

Kłeczek then displayed the guide to the camera, telling his guest to stop talking and accusing him of emotional problems and failing to face criticism. Wnuk fired back by asking whom Kłeczek worked for—Sakiewicz or Putin.

Bartosz T. Wieliński noted on Wyborcza.pl: “There is no doubt that Putin resorts to this type of provocation to test the reactions of his opponents and all of NATO.”

The argument escalated when Wnuk told Kłeczek not to insult the Polish uniform, to which the host shouted, “You spat on Polish uniforms.” The politician countered that the plural form “you” is used in Russia, not Poland, and addressed Kłeczek as “comrade.”

Expulsion from the Studio

The “comrade” designation proved to be the breaking point. Kłeczek told Wnuk to go to Moscow, while Wnuk retorted that Moscow was the host’s place and accused the station of broadcasting Moscow propaganda.

Kłeczek then ordered him out of the studio, stating he no longer wanted him there. Wnuk stood up, packed his bag, and told Kłeczek “Do svidanija!” as he walked out the door.
