Storm Disrupts Opening Night in Wrocław

The first day of Męskie Granie 2026 in Wrocław took place on Friday, July 31, at Pola Marsowe. After 10:00 PM, as the Myslovitz concert concluded on stage, the first lightning bolts appeared in the sky, prompting organizers to halt subsequent performances and ask the audience to leave the area under the stage.

After several minutes, organizers announced the complete termination of Friday’s program and ordered the evacuation of the entire site. At 10:44 PM, messages were displayed on big screens urging attendees to remain calm and head to the nearest evacuation exits due to safety reasons, resulting in the cancellation of scheduled performances by Łąki Łan, PRO8L3M playing Kazik, and Kult.

Dispute Over Weather Conditions

Some participants immediately questioned the validity of the decision, stating that the storm bypassed the event area and no rain fell at all. However, organizers emphasized that storms develop very dynamically and are difficult to predict, meaning safety decisions are based on the actual situation rather than forecasts alone.

Alternative Concert Options Proposed

On the Męskie Granie Facebook page, a message was published for those whose participation in Friday’s concerts in Wrocław was interrupted by the evacuation. Single-day ticket holders could attend Saturday’s concerts in Wrocław on August 1 or choose Friday’s concerts in Kraków on August 7 or Warsaw on August 21, while two-day pass holders could only use the out-of-town options in Kraków or Warsaw, with tickets honored without exchange and options available only once.

Internet Users Express Outrage

Some attendees pointed out that traveling to another city entails additional costs, with one participant writing directly that they bought a ticket for Friday’s concerts and expect a refund rather than traveling to another city, while others asked what people should do if neither Kraków nor Warsaw suits them and who will cover travel expenses.

Many commenters compared the current situation to the canceled finale of Męskie Granie in Żywiec in 2023, where the only form of compensation was priority in purchasing tickets for the next edition. Questions also arose regarding the legal basis of the decision, with a participant demanding the specific rule from the event regulations used instead of refunds, while noting that the website still displayed the 2024 regulations.

There were also voices from Wrocław residents not directly tied to tickets, as a resident near Pola Marsowe wrote that she was ultimately glad the concert was interrupted due to the noise nuisance for nearby housing estates during hot weather.
