Knife Attack in Wrocław: 18-Year-Old Ukrainian Citizen Arrested

An 18-year-old Ukrainian citizen was arrested after stabbing a young woman multiple times near a residential building entrance in Wrocław on Saturday evening.

Knife Attack on Gagarina Street

According to RMF FM reports, on Saturday, August 1, at around 9:00 PM near the entrance of an apartment building on Gagarina Street in the Muchobór district of Wrocław, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, an 18-year-old man stabbed a young woman several times before fleeing the scene.

The Drama in the Wrocław Neighborhood marked a violent criminal incident, with the 18-year-old assailant carrying out the attack in the local residential area.

Police Confirmation and Investigation

The Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław confirmed to Gazeta.pl that a “criminal incident” had taken place, and the prosecutor’s office is scheduled to provide further information on Monday.

Officers have not yet disclosed the motive behind the attack or whether the 18-year-old and the victim knew each other, while RMF FM reports that the incident has been classified as attempted murder.

Suspect Arrest and Victim Condition

The 18-year-old suspect was apprehended by the police, and as Senior Aspirant Monika Kaleta from the Wrocław police stated to the station, the detained individual is a Ukrainian citizen, while the injured woman was transported to the hospital.

Sub-Commissioner Aleksandra Freus from the Wrocław Municipal Police Headquarters informed the wroclaw.pl portal that the victim is approximately 30 years old.
