On Sunday, August 2, at the intersection of Toruńska and Brucknera streets in Wrocław, a line 8 tram collided with a bus. The incident resulted in injuries to several individuals, including a woman and a child.

Injured Passengers

Two bus passengers were injured, including a woman who sustained serious injuries. Additional casualties included a woman and a child who were passengers on the tram, as confirmed to PAP by Junior Inspector Aleksandra Freus, spokesperson for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

Traffic Disruption and Emergency Response

The accident caused serious traffic disruptions in the area of the intersection. The damaged tram blocked the tracks, causing traffic jams and prompting public transport route changes, with tram lines 8, 23, and 24, as well as bus lines D, 111, 116, and 151, diverted onto detours. Firefighters, emergency medical services, and police operated at the scene.

Daniel Misiek, spokesperson for MPK Wrocław, noted in comments cited by wroclaw.pl that this is one of intersections where drivers must exercise extreme caution. When turning right, drivers intersect the tram track and must ensure no tram is approaching from behind.
